Written during lockdown and recorded in beautiful Whitstable...
Inspired by modern day icons of beauty, the Gen Z women glued to their phones, lit up by the screen, like a religious icon lit up by an (un)holy light. This then led me to think about how we light up within, when we're with someone we love...with friends sharing special moments of real connection. Or when we listen to music and are moved to dance or cry. I have some sort of obsession with forms of light...the moon and sun featuring again in this song. I sometimes wonder if it's to do with playing a game we called 'catch the moon' with my dad as a kid...seeing it flashing through winter trees as we drove along...
Who knows? But we are moonbeams, we are star dust, you and I :-D
Myself and Stefan really hope you enjoy the song!
lyrics
You see me light up, walking down the pavement
Lit up by my phone, like an angel of the night
Wanna see me light up, when you look at me
Walking down the pavement, like an angel of the night
CHORUS
And I know, that you know, we could be so good
I know that you’re gonna love me like you should
Cos I see you light up when my lips
touch your skin, Feelin like an angel, like an angel of the night
Mid 8,
When the dark, is pouring in,
moon see you, moon be you,
when the lark sings to you to shine
sun feel you, sun be you,
VERSE
Cos you love to see me light up, dancing in the candlelight
Lit up by my phone like an angel of the night
You see my heart light up like eterniy
Swaying to Aretha the sweetest angel, of the night
CHORUS
And I know that you know we could be so good
I know that you are gonna love me like you should
Cos I see you light up when my lips
touch your skin, Feelin like an angel, like an angel of the night
Cos I see you light up when my hips draw you in,
Feelin like an angel, like an angel of the night
Cos I see you light up when my lips
touch your skin, Feelin like an angel, like an angel of the night
we are moon beams, we are stardust you and I
we are moon beams, we are stardust you and I
we are moon beams, we are stardust you and I
